“Joana was so sweet and welcoming. It was such a treat to bake in her beautiful home. Definitely added to the experience. The pastéis de nata stole the show, however. They were even better than the first ones I tried in Lisbon at the iconic Manteigaria. So, that’s saying something. I would recommend this activity to anyone if you’re visiting Porto. After losing much of his land to a fire and his father, who built the farm, Fabio rebuilt with strength and hope — planting olive and fruit trees where grapevines once stood. We spent the day strawberry picking, collecting eggs, and later cooking traditional dishes in his kitchen.
