Also seeing the doura valley was very nice. During the trip you will get breakfast and an excellent lunch (which really surprised me). For me, however, the trip was a little bit on the long side. Which is unavoidable if you want to reach the area near the Spanish border and see what is all about (the whine gardens in the hill). Bustrip back was fast, easy and comfortabele! “Scenery was beautiful on bus ride and cruise, meal on boat was delicious and plentiful, but very disappointed with lack of any narrative by the guide on the one and a half hour bus ride to our destination about the country, and no instruction on what to expect when we got to the boat. We arrived at the marina at 9:30, and didn’t board the boat until 11:00. We were two of few if any other Americans on the tour and were not told the cruise didn’t depart until 11:00. The scenery on the cruise was beautiful, but it would have been much more meaningful if there was someone available…”

We met lovely people at our dining table and on the upper deck. The food was good with large portions. They might even cut back the portions of side dishes.? The company might think about adding add chairs to accommodate all the passengers for seating on the upper deck.”

“The cruise was actually excellent, the staff wonderful and food very good and served quickly. However the return journey by train was a fiasco. Which was a real shame. One carriage of the train had, we were told, had been reserved for us to return to Porto. But there were already people in that carriage and there were far too many of us anyway. The result being that some people had to stand for the whole of the return journey, in excess of 2.5 hours. Completely unacceptable.”
